Opening days and last entry
The Palace opens at 09:00 and Trianon normally at 12:00, Tuesday to Sunday, closing at 18:30 in high season and 17:30 in low season; both close on 1 January, 1 May and 25 December. Gardens and Park open daily, 07:00 to 20:30 in high season and 08:00 to 18:00 in low season, subject to weather and special closures. Last admission to the Palace and Trianon is 17:45 in high season or 16:45 in low season. High-season last admission to the Gardens is 19:00, with Park gate times varying. Official source

What does a Palace of Versailles Passport ticket include?

The Versailles Passport gives access to the whole estate, including the Palace with timed entry, the Estate of Trianon, temporary exhibitions, the Gardens and the Park.

Choose a Passport-style ticket if you want to see more than the Palace itself and plan to visit the Trianon Estate and Gardens on the same day.

Does the Palace of Versailles require a timed entry?

The Palace portion of a Versailles Passport uses a booked time slot. The official Palace says that only Palace entry requires a reserved time, while the other estate areas can be visited throughout the day.

Treat the Palace time slot as the fixed part of your itinerary and arrange the Gardens, Park and Trianon Estate around it.

Yes. The official Passport includes the Gardens, Park and Estate of Trianon in addition to timed Palace entry.

A full-estate Passport is materially different from a Palace-only guided tour, so compare the included areas rather than price alone.

Are the Versailles Gardens always free?

No. During high season, admission to the Gardens can be charged on Musical Fountains Show and Musical Gardens days. Passport tickets include access to the Gardens during those programmes.

If you are visiting during the high season, check whether your ticket includes the Gardens rather than assuming Palace admission covers them.

Is transport from Paris included with every Versailles ticket?
