Your data

Privacy and cookies

VisitDecoded doesn't ask you to sign up, and we don't sell or share data about you. This page explains what little we collect, the cookies we use and how to change your choice.

What we collect

Clicks on booking links. When you click a Viator, GetYourGuide or Tiqets link, your browser tells us which page and link you used and the site you came from, and our server notes your country from the connection. We keep no IP address, no device details and no identifier, and we set no cookie for this. We use it to see which comparisons help people.

Page counts. When a page loads, your browser tells us which page it was and the width group your screen falls into (for example 390 to 429 pixels), and we add one to that day's total for the page. We keep no IP address, no device details and no identifier, we set no cookie and we store nothing on your device for this. We use the totals to see which pages people read and how many go on to a booking link.

Analytics, only if you accept. With your consent, Google Analytics records how the site is used: the pages you view, the searches you run on the site, the booking links you click, your type of device and browser, your approximate location and how you arrived, including from an AI assistant such as ChatGPT. Google Analytics does not log or store IP addresses. We have turned off Google signals and ad personalisation, and we don't use analytics for advertising. How Google uses this data

Emails. If you email us, for example with a correction, we use your address only to reply.

Searches and server logs. Searches on the site are answered by our server, which doesn't keep a record of them; if you accept analytics, Google Analytics records them as described above. Our hosting provider, Cloudflare, processes technical data such as IP addresses to deliver and protect the site, and our short-term server logs, which include the pages requested, are kept for up to seven days.

To change your choice at any time, use Cookie settings at the bottom of every page. If you reject analytics after accepting, we stop Google Analytics on this site and delete its cookies from your browser.

Booking partners and official sites

Booking links take you to Viator, GetYourGuide, Tiqets or an official ticket office. Those sites set their own cookies and their own privacy policies apply. Partner links carry our partner ID so the partner can pay us a commission if you book. Partners don't send us your name or payment details.

Your rights

You can ask what data we hold about you, and ask us to correct or delete it, by emailing hello@visitdecoded.com. If you're unhappy with how we handle your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office or to the data protection authority where you live.
