About VisitDecoded

How we check tickets

VisitDecoded helps you choose the right ticket for major attractions by comparing the official ticket office with selected partner offers, and by saying clearly what we have and have not checked.

What we compare

Every guide starts with the attraction's official ticket office: its published adult prices and, where the office shows a booking calendar, which dates are on sale.

Where partner comparisons are available, we compare selected offers from our booking partners: Viator, GetYourGuide and Tiqets. We do not list every ticket each partner sells; we choose offers that answer a real booking question, such as the cheapest timed entry, a guided tour or a trip with transport. Some guides cover official ticket information only, and say so.

How ticket features are checked

An offer's features, such as timed entry, a live guide, summit access or transport, are first classified from the supplier's own description by rules, then reviewed before they are shown as checked.

Only checked features can make an offer a recommendation. A feature we have not checked yet is shown as "not yet checked", never as included or excluded.

How often the information is refreshed

Viator and Tiqets prices, options and ratings are refreshed every 6 hours from their APIs. GetYourGuide prices are re-read from its product pages, but GetYourGuide limits automated reading, so a GetYourGuide price can be a few days old.

Official prices show the date we last checked them. Official date availability is read from the ticket offices' calendars about every 6 hours; for the Louvre it is read by hand, and for the Colosseum we explain the official release rule instead because its ticket office cannot be read automatically.

Where we have read availability, we show when it was last checked. Unchecked results have no availability timestamp, and a reading more than a day old is labelled as out of date.

How missing information is treated

Unknown is never shown as sold out. If we cannot read a ticket office or a partner for your date, the result says so and points you to the seller.

Prices are starting prices for one adult unless stated. Your date, time and group size can change the total, and the seller's checkout always shows the final price and cancellation terms before you pay.

How VisitDecoded is paid

We may earn a commission when you book through a Viator, GetYourGuide or Tiqets link. The commission does not increase the price you pay.

Commission does not decide which offer we recommend: recommendations follow the checked features and the current price, and the official ticket is always shown first.
