Official price benchmark

How do official Musée d'Orsay prices compare with partner tickets?

Before you book

Musée d'Orsay ticket questions that affect what you should buy

Musée d'Orsay ticket choices affect the services included with admission, whether you explore independently or with a guide, and whether you need to pay separately for an audio guide. These answers use current guidance from the Musée d'Orsay.

What does an official Musée d'Orsay admission ticket include?

A standard Musée d'Orsay admission ticket gives one admission to the museum's permanent collections and temporary exhibitions, subject to exhibition availability.

Compare partner ticket premiums against the services added to basic Musée d'Orsay admission rather than treating every partner option as equivalent to an official entry ticket.

Official Musée d'Orsay admission rates

Can you leave the Musée d'Orsay and re-enter with the same ticket?

No. The Musée d'Orsay states that an admission ticket is valid for one admission and that any exit from the museum is final.

Finish the collections, exhibitions and museum services you want to use before leaving the Musée d'Orsay.

Official Musée d'Orsay ticket conditions

Is a Musée d'Orsay audio guide included with standard admission?

No. The Musée d'Orsay audio guide is a separate service from general admission. The museum currently charges €6 for a full-price adult audio-guide rental.

The permanent-collection audio guide contains more than 300 commentaries and is available in French, German, English, Chinese, Korean, Spanish, Italian, Japanese, Portuguese and Russian.

Compare a partner ticket that includes an audio guide with the combined cost of official admission and the separate official audio-guide rental.

Official Musée d'Orsay audio-guide information

Who can enter the Musée d'Orsay for free?

The Musée d'Orsay provides free admission to several visitor groups, including people under 18 and eligible 18-to-25-year-olds from the European Union or European Economic Area. Certain young long-term residents of France or another EU country also qualify.

The first Sunday of each month is free for all visitors, but the Musée d'Orsay requires a reserved visit slot for that free-admission day.

Check whether you qualify for free official admission before paying for a partner entry ticket. A paid partner tour can still make sense when you specifically want a guide or another included service.

Official Musée d'Orsay free-admission rules

Do disabled visitors need to buy a Musée d'Orsay admission ticket?

Visitors with disabilities and one accompanying person receive free priority admission to the Musée d'Orsay when valid proof of disability is presented.

The Musée d'Orsay states that these visitors do not need to book an admission ticket in advance or visit the ticket office before entry.

A separate paid partner tour may still be useful if you want guided services, but basic Musée d'Orsay admission itself may already be free if you qualify.
