St Mark's Basilica ticket questions that affect what you should buy

Use these checks before choosing between official St Mark's Basilica tickets and partner products.

What does the St Mark's Basilica ticket include?

Within St Mark's, the €10 ticket covers the Basilica itself. The Pala d'Oro and the museum with the Horses Loggia need a combined ticket, €20 with either or €30 with both, and the Bell Tower has its own ticket.

Individual tickets go on sale 90 days before the visit date.

Basilica di San Marco: prices

What is the dress code at St Mark's Basilica?

Cover your shoulders and knees. Bags must not exceed 40 × 30 × 20 cm, and trolley bags are not allowed.

Individual visitors enter through Porta San Pietro and must bring ID matching the name on the ticket.

Basilica di San Marco: visitor services

Do children need a St Mark's Basilica ticket?

Under-10s enter free, and students up to age 26 and visitors over 65 pay half price. The official sources disagree on whether a 10-year-old is free or pays half price, so check before booking.

Named tickets cannot be changed or transferred, so enter each visitor's details carefully.

Basilica di San Marco: prices

Does the St Mark's Basilica ticket include other sites?

Yes. Within six months of purchase, the same ticket admits you to a list of other Venice churches and sites, and it gives free entry to the Home of The Human Safety Net in the Procuratie.

The Basilica itself only admits you at your booked time slot.
